The dark green, semi-transparent glaze with white edge finish of Gustavsberg's VARDAG service was designed by Karen Björquist and came on the market in 1958. Initially, it featured only seven parts, but it was gradually expanded to include casseroles and ovenproof dishes. The simple functionality of the service made it an instant hit with the public and its production lasted until 1975.
