HERTHA BENGTSON (born 1917 in Ysane, Sweden, died 1993) came to Rörstrand in 1941 after some years as a pattern-designer for Hackefors Porslinsfabrik. Blå Eld was introduced in 1950, and the next great success came with the service Koka Blå in 1956. 

In 1964 she started working at Höganäs Keramik, and then became a freelancing designer for the German Thomas-factory, that made utility ware for Rosenthal. Towards the end of her life she worked on unique glass at Strömbergs-hyttan.
